Bali

When I went to Bali Indonesia, I was mesmerized by Bali and its people and Bali is a living example where by strictly adhering to the culture and tradition how one can transform the entire region in to a paradise. As we actively pursue modernization, we coorgis are forgetting the importance of culture and tradition our core existence is threatened by various factors…. our population is gradually declining there are no significant efforts to stabilize our growth, with out knowing we are in the verge of getting lost in our own teritory.Being In a Muslim Country Bali Hindus are thriving and this is attributed to the great respect they have for their religion and culture. Still its not too late for us to wake up, our survival is in our own hands this can be only done by instilling rigorous spirits in our youngsters by sensitizing them by teaching them the how important and significant is our tradition is.. how they can use the religion and culture in daily life? .This can be only done by the active participation in the events by every corgi ..wealthy corgi even can contribute economically for the benefit of our Society. Our cultural heritage should be utilized in every aspect of life. In Bali Ramayana and Mahabharata plays significant role in Balinese life, eventhough Bali is in Indonesia the majority of the Balinese are Hindus constituting about 94% of the papulation. In Bali people believe that coconut tree is a sacred tree so no building should exceed its height, to my amazement there were not even one building that is taller than a coconut tree. This small example that how one's life has a direct impact of tradition and religion and even the Muslims in Bali strictly obey it. One can not explain Bali and its people by his words, one has to experience it. Shivarathri night every house in Bali including Muslim houses turn off their lights whole night is been spent in pitch darkness if any one found flaunting the law will be jailed. All these are not a bluff story from grandma's collection it is a truth, nevertheless Bali is peaceful tranquil and thriving in the middle of a Muslim country. It doesn’t matter where we are, it just matters where are we from>>with out hindering others peace with out being hurtful to others religious sentiments we still can thrive with out compromising our belief and faith as a coorgi, as a Indian and a as a Hindu.<

Happy trends emerging.

Last year the effect of global finacial crisis in India was so pronounced that there was a great fear that India would suffer the wealth destruction that spread like wild fire in United States. As stock markets tumbled and economic growth detoriated due to the plunging exports, shrinking demand for our software products and booming callcentre business slowed down drastically. Plenty of city folks suffered from either job losses or paycuts.
In the cities like Bangalore property prices fell triggering the slow evoparation of real eastate buyers and agents resulting in the further dipression in the cofidence levels.
However contrary to expectations that we would suffer enormously, upbeat signs in recent months signalling the recovery.
When we heavily depend on foreign economies with software exports and BPO s result could be destructive and we have tasted it now. This is surely a wake up call for us. With the current trend alive we can also tap in to other lucrative fields like tourism where we lag far behind.Using our rich historical and cultural background we can tap the potential foreign markets in a effective manner and Iam very sure that this will help us a lot.

Our coorg despite being blessed with natural treassures and interesting unique culture lags for behind in attracting foreign tourists if our leaders instigate the key decesion makers in the tourism board it will certianly help us but contrary to this we have rock bottom infratruction nothing is happening in this regard. My view is that there is no sincere effort by our local leaders.

One of my friend from canada who covered entire stretch of south india with his Motor bike encountered series of problems specially our roads lack proper road signs, he stressed that there was not even one clean public toilet.yeah its true do we have one? last year when I went to tehsildars office in virajpet I was terrified to see the condition of public toilet. He being a head of the whole taluk does'nt even know how to keep the toilet clean in his own compound. This small thing can be the yardstick to meassure the quality of service he would deliver to our community as a govt administrator. All these guys including our ministers should be sent abroad for a study tour where by they can learn how to implement corrective meassres. Small things can bring big changes.I hope that our new chiefe minister would do something good towards the improvement of infratrure in coorg.

Voilence in virajpet

By the time IAM writing this our entire family members are still in the process of recovering form the shock of our beloved Member chottemada Belliappa's death, who was hacked to death by his own friends. The incident is a nightmare for all of us and we are still mourning and it is hard to believe that such a gallant guy is no more with us.Chottemanda Belliappa who was popularly known as anna among the community had a wonderful personality. To describe it briefly he was resilient, outspoken and brave but he had a very bad temper. He always fought for the justice but little did he realise that this attitude of his would take his life one day.Achapanda Monnappa better known as Annu's son Harisha and his accomplishes are the main accused in Anna's Murder. Harisha and Belliappa together were involved in several businesses and due to some misunderstanding they parted, from here their misunderstanding has brewed in to a enimity and finally to a fist to fist fight, in which Harish and his brother were injured and hospitalised, but no one suspected these cowards will react in such a brutal way. On that fateful day he Anna was returning home together with his friend in a auto where his auto was tailed by a Maruti omni van with few gang members, there was another Maruti van which was fully loaded with few more guys ramms Anna' s auto and they pulled him out meantime attacking him with meat cleavers.Anna later succumbs to the severe head injuries inflicted by these inhumane men.It is so painful that he leaves behind two little kids.

YSR a Tyrant

Unlike other south indian states Andra pradesh is known for its notorious leaders here in this state no one thrives in polictics unless he has a blessing from these landlords and he has to be one of them too.Ysr's father was one of them he accumulated heck of lot of money by resorting violence and no one likes to talk about it.His son YSR is a chip of an old block too.Why should we mourn for the death of such a man.May be Chritians and Muslims have thier own reasons for that just because he was a solace for them, poor guys who lost their lives are poorest of the poor I dont understand Why did they die for him?has he lifted them out of poverty or did they die for the 2kgs of rice which he has ditrubuted by looting the state treassury. These stupid people should understand he did nothing for the poor.He made his son one of the richest.I just want to ask these people will they die for their own parents?.we are really lucky now atleast for now we have escaped from the clutches of this Monster.

clean Bangalore

Dear Friends

My name is uthaiah krishna, I was born in a remote village in coorg which is well known for its spectacular natural beauty, which gives one a heavenly pleasure when one really indulges in it.
To pursue my studies I had to depart from my wonderful home.By then little did I know that I would not be returning to coorg other than short visits which I pay to see my parents. Over the years things has been changed I was used to Bangalore's life style and I had an opinion that Bangalore is the cleanest city until I visited few of the cleanest cities in the world,,,,from here chain of events starts that really makes me sick and annoyed I just cant digest the fact that how dirty our beloved Bangalore is (and we often brand Bangalore as a cleanest garden city) and I always wonder why cant we keep our city clean and tidy with out littering, what the hell our government is really up to? the questions always lingers. When I was in Toronto,Canada, my friend accompanied me to India for a short trip and I really felt ashamed and embarrassed to answer his series of questions that he asked about the messy atmosphere in Bangalore___to save my face I lamented: all these are results of insufficient funds "but real fact lurks somewhere.
Dear Friends now I live in Kuala lumpur, Malaysia, here I find city folks are well organised and sensitized they all actively take part in keeping their city clean and tidy. When ever I pay a visit to Bangalore my Malaysian wife often teases me here is your Bangalore cleanest Garden city in the World....
What is the solution going to be like? where is the solution ?.........it is with us, with our govt bodies, local authorities.Govt should educate people in this regard and should ensure that every one takes part by not vandalising the public properties by spitting, littering etc.Certainly its not tough to achieve. Its not only the money but also the strong willingness would obeviously works to the great extent. keeping our country clean is just as easy as keeping our house clean. For this we need willingness and not millions of rupees towards the maintenance.People employed in city corporation should be given training just to make them realise what really clean means.I hope that things going to change in right direction then we can really brag.
